THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has urged the government to take urgent steps to fill vacancies of judges in the Lokayukta.
In Lokayukta there are three judges- one Lokayukta and two Upalokayuktas. Among them a Upalokayukta judge retired two months ago and there has been no replacement for him as yet. Because of this, Lokayulta’s service is not available for the people.
The appointment is being delayed to protect judges. This can’t be accepted. Therefore the government should take steps to appoint the judge.
