Beef controversy: Avoid crucifying teacher, says Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that he had asked Cochin Devaswom Board president not to take any action against College teacher Deepa Nishanthini who had favoured beef festival through her Facebook page.

Chennithala made public this information on Thursday in one of his Facebook postings.

The minister said he suspected political motives behind the incident.

“It is not right to crucify the teacher for just making fb posts favouring beef festival. Devaswom Board president M P Bhaskaran has told me that he had not taken any action against the teacher and just asked for a report on the incident from the principal after coming to know about it,” Chennithala added.
