Lali Vincent not to run for local body polls

NEW DELHI: KPCC vice president advocate Lali Vincent has chosen to opt out of contesting for the coming civic body elections. Her name was in the list among those considered for the post of Kochi mayor. She withdrew following strict directive from the KPCC.

Padmaja Venugopal and Lali Vincent were the two in the forefront for the post of mayor. No other offers have been obtained and said that she will be there for campaigning.

As Lali has withdrawn from the fight,KPCC general secretary Padmaja Venugopal will be considered for the post. Many including existing deputy mayor B Bhadra are in the fray. Padmaja is in charge of Thrissur district. Though I am keen in becoming a mayor, the party’s decision is important, she said.
