BJP need not feel sick over UDF's Aruvikkara win: Antony

KOCHI: Senior Congress leader and AICC action council member A K Antony has said that BJP need not expect a repeat of Aruvikkara poll result in the case of local body election, though they had managed to get some votes in the former. “BJP’s aim in Kerala is to create communal polarisation,” he said while inaugurating UDF’s local body poll convention in Kochi.

“Some BJP men have reached Kerala with their backpack with the aim of conquering the State. But, what we have to tell them is not to feel sick over UDF’s win in Aruvikkara. BJP’s communal politics will not work out in Kerla. BJP’s aim is to make Kerala’s face ugly. They are planning to destroy the peaceful atmosphere in Kerala, which is renowned for communal harmony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP state president Amit Shah and RSS have been trying to destroy Kerala. But Kerala’s people will reject BJP and those who will be siding with the BJP will end up in a deplorable state. The contest will be between UDF and LDF,” Antony said.

If the unity in the UDF is sustained, it will see a shining victory in the coming local body election and Assembly election. The work for that should begin today itself. Leaders should put aside channel discussion and go out to work for the Front. In the case of seat, all should compromise. Extra care should be taken not to let seat-related discussions leak through media, Antony has said.
