Karayis in Kochi, to contest in Kannur for CPM

KOCHI: Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan, CPM leaders of Kannur, residing in Ernakulam as per bail conditions as accused in the Fazal murder case, is gearing up to contest the local body polls.  

The party has decided to field Karayi Rajan, a member of Kannur district secretariat and Karayi Chandrashekaran, Thalassery area committee member, in Kannur. The two have approached the Kerala High Court seeking relaxation in their bail conditions.

Both were granted bail on the condition that they should not leave Ernakulam till the case is over.If the murder accused are made candidates, then the UDF and the BJP, will use it as a weapon for the campaign in the state. The CPM will later be known as spokespersons of murder politics and it cannot be justified also.

Both the leaders are facing trial in the murder of NDF activist Fazal at Thalassery in Kannur.
