NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday denied bail to Chandrabose murder case accused Nisham Muhammed, saying that he is arrogant and egotistic. He is a person who doesn’t value common man’s life. The bail was denied by a bench headed by Deepak Mishra.
“It doesn’t appear to be a forged case. And the accused person’s criminal background and witness’ statement go against granting him bail. Nisham is a person who feels he is a VIP and he shouldn’t put a value for poverty,” the court observed.
“The high court remarks should not affect the trial court procedures, which should end within January 31. Senior advocate and Congress leader Kapil Sibal is representing the government in the court,” it said.
Though there were reports that Harish Salve would be Nisham’s counsel, he later withdrew from the case.
The incident relating to the case happened on January 9 when Nisham allegedly hit Chandrabose with his posh car. The security guard who was a staff of Shoba City Flat later succumbed to his injuries. Nisham who was a resident of the same flat was arrested after that.
