Chief Minister to inaugurate Vizhinjam port construction

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the construction works of Vizhinjam International Deep Water Multipurpose Seaport project on Saturday at 4:30 pm. Central Shipping Minister Nithin Gadkari and Adani Group Chairman Gautham Adani will witness the inauguration of Kerala’s long-cherished dream project.  

The project estimated at Rs 7525 crore will come up on the 350 acre space which include 220 acre land space and 130 acre sea area. Though the project period is four years, Adani group promises that the project will be completed within 1000 days. 

The inaugural function to be held at Vizhinjam will be noted for the absence of Opposition leader Achuthanandan and other Left leaders. Though they had been invited, today they said that that they would boycott the function as a mark of protest against Excise Minister K Babu and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
