Vizhinjam: Adani to meet Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When just one day is left for the stone-laying ceremony of Vizhinjam port project, Adani group are themselves coming forward to iron out the differences between the government and Opposition over the project. As part of this, Adani Group chief Gautham Adani will himself meet Deputy Opposition leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in Thiruvananthapuram at 11:30 am on Saturday.

The Opposition had earlier said that it would boycott the inaugural function. Gautham will seek Kodiyeri’s cooperation in the mammoth project. He will inform the Opposition that the group would implement the project in a transparent manner. He will also ask the Opposition to shun non-cooperative attitude towards the project.

The Opposition’s main allegation was that Adani’s main aim was real estate business on the pretext of Port project.
Following this Adani held talks with Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, who had then turned his back on the project. The contract for the project was earlier signed between the government and Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt Ltd.
