I resigned to uphold high values, says Mani

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala High Court passed the verdict without hearing my part in the bar case and it was really disappointing, said K M Mani in the assembly. The court has not found me guilty. Mani made the statement in the assembly as per rule 64 on the situation which led to his resignation.

Meantime, the opposition protested amidst his statement. C Divakaran of the CPI first stood up protesting. He said that Mani should have made the statement on the first day of the session and it could not be allowed now. Soon, the other opposition members supported Divakaran. If he is making a statement then the speaker should give ruling said opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Speaker said resigned ministers have made statements.
