NEW DELHI: Hindu Aikyavedi leader Kummanam Rajasekharan will take over BJP State president's post on Friday, according to sources.
The hint is that the announcement in this regard will happen today and he will take over the charge in Thiruvananthapuram. The Central leadership's decision will be announced by National president Amit shah.
Though the name of Balashankar, who is in charge of party publications, was also heard, Kummanam's name was finalised as per the special interest of RSS.
Differences of opinion in State-Central leaderships had led party to leave the decision to Amit Shah. Final decision was taken after discussions among senior RSS and BJP leaders in the Centre. No discussion with State leadership was held thereafter in this connection.
Kummanam is currently Hindu Aikyavedi State General Secretary, Ayyapa Seva Sangham general secretary and Janmabhoomi daily's chairman.
His role in Nilakkal issue and Palium declaration are notable. After being a journalist for some time, he worked in Food Corporation of India. He left the job later to become full-time RSS pracharak. Eventually he reached Hindu Aikya Vedi.
