Media need not be briefed about communication sent to CM: Vellapally

KOLLAM: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan has said that media need not be explained about communique sent to CM, asking him to avoid attending R Shankar statue unveiling function. He said what would happen on Tuesday was a private function.

“The reports that the chief minister will not attend the function to be attended by the prime minister is true. I am not responding on the reason for not inviting the chief minister. I will respond… after the function on December 16. I am not interested in triggering controversies when a good thing is going to happen,” he said.

Meanwhile, KPCC president V M Sudheeran, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Congress leader A K Antony have criticised the organisers of the function, saying their act has humiliated the chief minister of Kerala. They said the BJP’s pressure tactics could be behind the move. The Left leaders also criticised the gesture.
