One killed as car falls into gorge
RAJAKKAD: A woman was killed and five others were injured when the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge at Rajakkad in Idukki. The dead has been identified as Sajitha of Kottappuram in Kodunagalloor. Shantha of Thrissur, Sumisha of Cherayi, Sajitha’s husband Anuraj, Rajesh of North Paravoor, his wife Arya and daughter Aithika, aged two, who sustained injuries have been admitted at the Ernakulam Medical Trust.
The incident happened early Sunday morning while they were returning after visiting Palani. The driver lost control of the car and fell into the gorge. The body of Sajitha is kept at Nedukandam taluk hospital.
