THRISSUR: Thrissur Vigilance court has directed Vigilance department to conduct quick verification against Excise Minister Babu and Bar Hotel Association Working President Biju Ramesh in the bar bribery case.
The court has asked the department to conduct the verification and submit the report within January 23. The court’s order came in reply to the petition filed by social activist George Vattakulam, seeking to make minister Babu accused number One and Biju accused number 2.
The allegation in the petition is that Minister Babu took bribe from Ramesh in order to reduce the licence fee. The petitioner said that Biju Ramesh, through TV channels, had alleged that Minister Babu took bribe and this should be examined.
