CSI Church in city attacked, seven injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CSI Church at Puthukunnu in Poudikonam was attacked late last night. The condition of three out of the seven injured is stated to be serious. A 30-member gang are suspected to be behind the attack.

Reji Vijayan (26) of Njandurkkonam, Alex Francis (28) and Rejin Prasad (26), both of Chempazhanthi, engaged in decorating the church were the seriously injured.  The three has been admitted at the medical college hospital. The others sustained injuries when they intervened in the attack.  

The local residents besieged the road in protest against the attack. The protest ended after M A Wahid MLA and rural SP Shefin Ahamed assured to nab the culprits.
