CM should resign immediately, says Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary Kodyeri Balakrishnan has said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should not wait even for a second to resign, if he has the moral rightness.

“Cases should be charged against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Minister Aryadan Muhammed as per Prevention of Corruption Act,” Kodiyeri said at a press conference here on Thursday.

“The government’s counsel had pleaded in a Vigilance court not to consider the Public Interest Litigation seeking the court to file a case against the chief minister based on the allegation that he had taken bribe. But, the court rejected the plea. The court observed that at extraordinary situation there will be extraordinary orders. In the light of the court order, the Vigilance should urgently take necessary steps,” Kodiyeri said.
