KOCHI: Kerala High Court has postponed conditions to January 12, the plea submitted by Thalassery Fazal murder case accused Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan, seeking relaxation in bail conditions. Justice Sunil Thomas was considering the plea.
The Karayis are the accused in the murder case in which NDF member Fazal was allegedly murdered on October 22, 2006. The CBI had taken over the case on July 22, 2012 and both had surrendered in Ernakulam CJM court. After that, on November 7, 2013, the high court granted bail on condition that they should not leave Ernakulam.
However, Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan were elected as Kannur District President and Thalassery Corporation chairman respectively during the civic polls. Now, what they have sought is relaxation in bail conditions in order to visit Kannur.
