Sivankutty sends legal notice to K Babu seeking compensation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V Sivankutty MLA has sent a legal notice to Minister K Babu seeking a compensation of Rs one crore in the bar bribery case. The notice was sent following the statement of Babu that a conspiracy was hatched by the bar owners at Sivankutty’s house to trap the minister in the case. The notice has mentioned that if he fails to withdraw the statement and tender an apology, will go forward with the defamation case.

Soon after the Thrissur vigilance court ordered further probe against Babu in the bar case, he levelled the allegation at the press meet convened to announce his resignation. He alleged that the conspiracy was hatched on December 15 in 2014 at 7 pm. However, Sivankutty had denied the allegation. Many including bar hotel association working president Biju Ramesh had visited my house but that was not to hatch a conspiracy, he explained.
