One stabbed to death in group clash

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth, who sustained stab injuries during a clash with goons, succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The dead has been identified as Vinod (27), son of Rafi and Sreekumari of Nettayam. Two others who sustained injuries along with Vinod has been admitted at the medical college hospital. Sagar, Anaz and Shahjahan of Kollamkavu are the three undergoing treatment.

The version of the Nedumangad police is that a clash broke out between two groups at a beer & wine parlour in the place. In the melee, one from the goonda gang sustained injuries after a glass piece pierced on him. The goons fled the place when police reached the spot.

The gang who reached a private hospital nearby with the injured person had a verbal dispute with Anaz who came to take insulin. The gang in a fit of rage stabbed those who came with Anaz. The police who reached the spot after informed by the hospital authorities admitted them at the Nedumangad district hospital but was later shifted to medical college hospital as the injury was serious. Vinod, a driver died when a surgery was decided on him Monday morning.
