Filing case against Babu is at Vigilance’ discretion: Chennithala

KOCHI: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that whether to file case against Minister Babu or not is at the discretion of the Vigilance department. “FIR can be registered only if primary investigation proves that the minister is guilty. As a minister I shall not interfere in the investigation,” he said.

Chennithala was responding to the remarks made by the high court recently against the government’s handling of Babu’s case. He said Vigilance itself would make submissions in the high court about its stand on the remarks.

To another question, Chennithala said the government had not made any change in its liquor policy. In this case, the Left was having double-dealing.
