Lawyer gets death threat over plea for women to enter temple, serious says SC

NEW DELHI:  A lawyer fighting for the right of women to enter Sabarimala temple received a death threat. The threat is a serious thing, observed the Supreme Court. The court said an amicus curiae will be appointed if the advocate withdraws. The court also said people including Harish Salve will be made amicus curiae. A bench led by Justice Deepak Mishra considered the plea today.

President Naushad Ahmed Khan for Young Lawyers Association moved the Supreme Court. The association moved the court stating that denying entry to women is violation of fundamental rights. He said that he received death threats via phone, e-mail and social media.
