Conspiracy behind Saritha’s statement

KOCHI: Saritha S Nair’s statement before the solar commission that she had given Rs 20 lakh to Kerala Police Association was part of a conspiracy of former office bearers, said state general secretary G R Ajith at a press meet.

Ajith said that he suspects former state general secretary C R Biju and treasurer C T Baburaj behind it. He said that he had requested the DGP to conduct a comprehensive probe on it. Saritha told the commission that the money was handed over to Ajith at the car parking area of the north block at the secretariat.

Ajith said that he has sought permission to file a defamation case against Saritha. I have neither seen her nor contacted her via phone. An advertisement ‘Well-Wisher’ seen in the souvenir of police association was given by skyline builders. He produced the cheque and the letter of the builders at the press meet.

Days before the arrest of Saritha, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy released the souvenir by handing it over to the then DGP Balasubramanyam. Her allegation that it was printed ‘well-wisher’ in the advertisement as the souvenir was released after her arrest, is wrong. A plea will be filed to find the truth. The association was acquitted by a probe conducted by ADGP A Hemachandran when the allegation was voiced earlier.
