Educational help for endosulfan victim Shruthi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An educational help of Rs 4 lakh would be given to endosulfan victim Shruthi, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Shruthi is studying at the Bengaluru Homeo Medical College.  Shruthi’s husband Jagadheesh had the other day attempted suicide as he was not able to find money for her educational expenses.

The cabinet also decided to grant aided status to unaided special schools which has more than 100 students. The same status would be given to buds schools which has 25 children. Government’s Dhanashree lottery has been renamed Sthree Shakthi. The price of the lottery has been increased to Rs 50. Hope to get an increase of Rs 100 crore annually through it. A part of the income would be utilized for the welfare of women, the chief minister said. A pension of Rs 2000 would be given to all affected with sickle disease, he said.
