No special agitations planned against Mani, says Kanam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI is not planning any special agitational programmes against Finance Minister K M Mani, who is facing graft charges in the bar bribery scam, said the new state secretary Kanam Rajendran. As the Left Front has planned the agitational programmes, we are not doing anything, he said.

Kanam said the budget presentation by Mani will be against the interests of the state. A decision on the protests to be staged will be decided at the LDF meet to be convened on March 6.

Kanam said he will reach the capital city on March 6 to attend the LDF meeting. As a first step, steps would be taken to strengthen the CPI. The party will be strengthened at all levels. In reply to a question, he said all political parties are entitled to obtain the chief ministerial post.
