NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the government will not withdraw the permission given for the construction of Aranmula airport. There are no sufficient grounds to cancel the permission. He said this on Tuesday while he was taking to media persons after his meeting with Union ministers in New Delhi.
“The sanction for the airport was given by the previous LDF government and the next government need not cancel the project. It is the promoters KGS group, who has to get the environmental sanction for the project and if they come with that, the government will take necessary steps. If the Centre doesn’t give the permission for the project, it will not materialise. It was the Central government which included the airport in the economic survey,” the chief minister said.
In the Bar circular controversy, the chief minister supported KPCC president V M Sudheeran. “ The court should have made the remark after listening to Sudheeran’s version,” he added.
