KOCHI: The Kerala High Court Wednesday rejected opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s plea seeking a CBI probe in the solar case. A division bench led by Acting Chief Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice A M Shafeek rejecting the plea said investigation by the police is satisfactory and there is no significance now for a CBI probe.
When the plea was considered earlier, the court had directed the police to make clear the progress of investigation in the cases connected with the solar fraud and as per that the report was submitted today. Inquiry in 32 cases out of the 35 was completed and three cases were settled outside the court, police informed the court. Police said the cases registered in Ernakulam north, south and Hosdurg stations were the ones settled.
Following that, the division bench clarified that VS can approach the court after the report of judicial investigation is submitted.
