THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man was killed after being hit by a lorry when he was going to stick posters against garbage disposal. The lorry which fled soon after the incident was taken into custody by the police. The dead has been identified as Mohanachandra Kumar (65) of Enchakkal.
The incident happened Tuesday morning near his house. Kumar was hit while walking on the road with the posters, by the lorry which was returning after supplying food at the airport. Though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The lorry which fled soon after the incident was followed by the Vanchiyoor police and handed over to the traffic police. Lorry driver Siby was taken into custody.
Mohanachandra Kumar leaves behind his wife Prabha Kumar and children Manoj (taluk office) and Vinod and daughter in laws Savitha and Nisha.
