Wednesday, June 01, 2011: The Court has today reserved its judgment on the anticipatory bail pleas moved by the managing partners of the Apple A Day Properties in connection with the money fraud case. The Court would declare its judgment on the bail plea filed by K.A. Saju and C. Rajiv Kumar tomorrow.
Both the managing partners of the company have been earlier declared as fugitives. The prosecution strictly opposed the bail petition moved by the accused.
Already several cases have been registered and many more complaints are waiting to be incorporated into the First Information Report. Meanwhile the investigating officers have found that bank accounts operated by the builders have been drained off funds.
Teams of police officers have been asked to check whether the builders operated more accounts and so far details have not been collected, said a senior official of the team.
Five teams of police officers, drawn from Town North, Palarivattom, Eloor, Cheranalloor and Mulavukadu police stations have been formed under K.M. Anto, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ernakulam and M. Remesh Kumar, Circle Inspector, Town North to probe the cases.
Most of the complaints have been lodged against the delay in completion of Big Apple and New Kochi, a township project proposed at a rural area of Alappuzha district. The builders have announced five other projects, which are yet to take off. It is learnt that the construction activities at work sites stopped nearly two years back.
