Thursday, July 07, 2011: Government doctors will begin their indefinite non-cooperation strike from July 19 to protest against the government’s apathy towards pay revision. Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) will give the strike notice to the Health Minister Adoor Prakash today.
Doctors had earlier postponed their indefinite strike proposed from June 10 by a month, in deference to a request from Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that the new government needs more time to study the anomalies regarding their pay revision.
The KGMOA, which held a second round of discussions with the Chief Minister and Health Minister Adoor Prakash announced the association’s decision to postpone the strike.
Chandy had said that a proposal would be arrived at for resolving the pay revision anomalies and forwarded to the Finance Department.
