Thursday, July 07, 2011: A two-member gang, armed with pistol, looted gold jewellery worth around Rs 4 crores near Central Junction in Kottayam district on Thursday. The daring daylight heist took place around 12:30 pm. The duo opened fire and created chaos. They grabbed gold ornaments and jewellery and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the Kumarakom Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident. Search operation is on to trace the other.
