THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In reply to the calling attention of M Hamsa, Minister C N Balakrishnan said 3000 outlets of Consumerfed will be opened during the Onam season. The government has given 25 crore for it. Items of 13 kinds will be sold at a discount of 20%. Steps will be taken to solve the problems faced by cooperative societies.
The government will approach finance department to obtain relaxation on sales tax for cooperative societies. Some societies are not paying share on risk fund project. 124.34 crore has been sanctioned from risk fund for 18728 applications. One and a half lakh would be obtained as insurance. Steps will be taken to utilize the amount for the members’ welfare. Audit facility will be computerized. A software would be launched jointly with CDit.
