KOCHI: CPM District Secretariat member Karayi Rajan and Thalassery Area Committee member Karayi Chandrasekharan, who are out on bail in Thalasssery Fazal murder case, can now contest the Local Self Governing Body poll. The court has accepted their plea to allow them to move out of Ernakulam district.
They got the court permission to leave the district to submit nomination papers on Friday. The party leadership’s decision is to make Karayi Rajan the candidate of the Padyam division of the Panchayat.
Even he figures in the list of portables for Distrcit Panchayat president.
Meanwhile, the party has in mind Karayi Chandrasekharan’s name for the position of Thalassery Corporation. Where he should be fielded is not yet decided.
