Never in my life have I eaten beef: K Surendran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader K Surendran has come out with explanations on his photos in which he appears to be eating beef. The photos posted on the facebook have already gone viral. He says he has never eaten beef in his life and he always ate vegetarian food during election campaign. He has also posted a picture of him standing with cows

Fb Post (English translation)

“Like this (cows in photo) I’m rearing twenty cows in my house. A photo of mine eating parotta and onion curry on some election campaign day, with the caption ‘beef-eating Kerala BJP leader’ has gone viral till New Delhi. The irony is that I only take vegetarian food during campaign days and I have never eaten beef in my life.”

Beef controversy in Kerala

“In India, the export of beef (cow, bull and calf) has been banned. But there is no truth in the allegation that beef export increased by 15.4 per cent in the first year rule of Narendra Modi. But there is no ban in the export of the meat of buffalo, ox, goat and sheep. The slaughter houses are permitted in only ten states. Only they have the permission to export the meat of permitted animals. Those states are UP, Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland and Kerala.

Is the circus on beef controversy in Kerala not part of a political compromise? It is only the hide and seek of the Congress-Communist parties to hoodwink the public by shielding solar-bar corruption. If these parties are trying to fool the people again, it is because they are underestimating the awareness and will power of the people.”
