Man found dead in jail

 
KOTTAYAM: An Abkari case accused, who had been in police remand, was found dead inside the jail on Saturday. It was Kannazha native Sibi aka Thomas who was found dead in Ponkunnam jail.

On Friday midnight, he was found physically weak inside the cell and he was soon shifted to Kanjirapally General Hospital but the doctors there declared him brought dead.  

An alcohol addict, he is said to have shown his sickness over not getting alcohol, according jail authorities.
Meanwhile, the relatives alleged his was a case of custodial death.

The body has been shifted to Medical College hospital for post-mortem.
