CPM will have to pay heavy price for attack on Sreenivasan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM will have to pay a heavy price for the attack on former diplomat and higher education council vice-chairman T P Sreenivasan, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. I don’t think the diplomat has behaved in an indecent manner with the SFI activists. The police has not given such a report like that.

I know Sreenivasan personally. He is a dignified person and there is no doubt in it. CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan will have to correct his statement later. Everybody has the chance to stage strike and protest. But the one witnessed in Kovalam has crossed all limits, the chief minister said.

I don’t know about centre according Y category security for SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan and I even don’t know that he had a security threat also. The statement of opposition leader V S Achuthanandan that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated is totally baseless. At the same time, the brutal murder witnessed in Vakkom shouldn’t have happened in a state like Kerala. He lauded the police for arresting the accused minutes after the incident.
