I’ve not made any statement against Karunakaran in spy case, says Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: I’ve not made any statment against veteran leader K Karunakaran in the ISRO spy case, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. He asked the media whether they can show him any statement blaming the leader. There is no connection between the ISRO spy case and the leader resigning as a minister, he said while briefing reporters after the cabinet.

The chief minister who is claiming that the government has not incurred any loss in the solar case, came forward seeking the resignation of Karunakaran even when the exchequer had not suffered any loss in the spy case, asked the reporters. The chief minister explained that the then political situation was not this. There was an issue related to the Rajya Sabha polls. Dr M A Kuttappan was asked to file nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha. Next day morning the high command directed to withdraw it. I had to resign my finance ministership in the name of it, said Chandy.

When asked about his interview to a private channel demanding the resignation of Karunakaran by raising the issue of image, Chandy just miled and walked off.
