Oppn urges governor not to deliver policy address

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition LDF Wednesday met Governor Justice P Sathasivam and urged him not to deliver the customary policy address on February 5, the day assembly’s budget sessions is starting. Talking to reporters after meeting the governor, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said the governor had told that he will have to discharge his constitutional duties.

The UDF Government is neck deep in corruptions. Corruption charges have been levelled against the government in bar bribery, palmolein and solar scam. The court had even ordered to register FIR against the chief minister and ministers. All these have stained the political atmosphere of the state. Not only that, goons and criminals are unleashing violence in the state. The police have turned mute spectators.  The lapses from the side of the police have been conveyed to the governor.

When asked whether they had requested the governor to censure Oommen Chandy from presenting the budget, VS replied  “Will any dignified person ask this question”, and added there is no use in asking such questions?
