Vigilance case against Thachankary

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A vigilance case has been registered against former transport commissioner Tomin J Thachankary. The case was registered after a quick verification was conducted on the controversial measures taken by him while serving the top post.

The case would cover the tax concessions granted to vehicle dealers and for the irregularities noticed in buying the software for the pollution emission test. His proposal to use the software of the same company in all pollution test centres had led to suspicion. The vigilance will also examine the controversial orders passed by him in the last six months.
