THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Mohanlal will be the goodwill ambassador of Kerala government's organ donation project named Mrithasanjeevani.
He will work without accepting any remuneration for this. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the actor have signed an agreement in this regard.
The scheme with private participation was begun by the government in 2012 in order to co-ordinate handing over of organs.
Mrithasanjeevani scheme is the Kerala Network for Organ Sharing. It facilitates the donation of organs belonging to brain-dead persons.
The chief minister said that the government’s aim is to make the project a global model with the slogan ‘share organ save lives’.
