Oppn uproar in assembly over self-financing issue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Assembly Tuesday witnessed some uproarious scenes on the second day also after opposition attacked the LDF government over the fees in the self-financing colleges. The opposition reached the assembly wearing a black badge and holding placards and protested by shouting slogans during question hour. They protested while Finance Minster Dr Thomas Isaac was replying. The placards carried the demands to end the loot in the self-financing issue and to cancel the deal. The opposition first did not pay heed to speaker’s demand to stay cool.

They stopped shouting slogans when speaker informed that a notice for adjournment motion has been given in the self-financing issue. The question hour continued later.

The opposition sought permission for the adjournment motion yesterday also. However, the speaker denied permission and soon the assembly witnessed some uproarious scenes. The chief minister made a statement in the assembly and Health Minister K K Shylaja held talks with the youth congress activists fasting. However, a decision could not be taken in the discussion held.
