Flash floods: Three bodies recovered from Kadanthara river

KOZHIKODE: The bodies of three out of the six missing after flash floods swept them away when they ventured into the Kadanthara river at Pookkanthod in Marutongara panchayat near Kuttiyadi in Kozhikode for bathing, have been recovered.

The bodies of Shine Shashi, son of Shashi of Kakkuzhi and Rejeesh, son of Ramakrishnan of Kothod were recovered. The body of the third person has also been recovered but he has not been identified. Later last night, rescue team recovered the body of Rejeesh.

The body of Shine Shashi was recovered early Monday morning. Police and fire force are continuing search operations for P Vishnu, son of Rajan of Kothod, Ashwanth Chandran, son of Chandran, Akshay Rajeevan, son of Rajeevan, and Vipin Das Devan, son of Devadas.

Three others-Vineesh, Jishnu and Amal Krishna were bailed out by local residents yesterday itself. They were apparently washed away in the flood waters triggered by landslide and incessant rain that lashed in nearby forest areas.
