Ameerul Islam is the lone accused in Jisha murder case, says police

ERNAKULAM: Aluva Rural SP Unniraja has stated that they have successfully completed the probe in the case of Jisha, a law student brutally murdered in Perumbavoor. The accused is a habitual sex offender. He murdered her when she opposed his rape attempt. He committed the crime alone.

There are scientific and technical evidences against the accused.There are altogether 165 witnesses in the case. Unniraja said he has been charged for murder, trespass into the house, rape, destroying evidence etc.

The fourth finger print obtained from her house was of somebody’s who came to her house long ago. The police conducted a detailed probe on it. Jisha had food from her house on the day she was murdered. Following the suspicion that she had food from outside, the police examined the nearby CCTV clippings but nothing was obtained. The rest are all speculations, he said.  

Police did not obtain anything from the pen camera she bought. The police have obtained the weapon used for the crime. Evidences have been obtained that the knife obtained was in owned by the accused. The clothes used by the accused at the time of the crime was not obtained as he threw it outside from the train.

Unniraja said this at the press meet convened to explain about the charge sheet filed at the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court today.
