Two has informed to produce proofs against Mani, vigilance tells court

KOCHI: The vigilance has filed an affidavit in the high court stating that more evidences have been obtained against former finance minister K M Mani in the bar bribery case. Two witnesses have informed to produce proofs against Mani, the vigilance said this in reply to Mani’s plea seeking quashing of the FIR as the case against him was politically motivated.

The statement of these witnesses were registered earlier. They informed the vigilance that they have some new evidences with them. In addition, one more advocate has levelled a complaint against Mani. A probe is on into it. A case has been registered against Mani on the basis of the witnesses’ revelation. If a further probe has to be conducted, a case should be registered. The vigilance informed the court that the vigilance director has the right to register a case.

The case will be considered again on October 2.
