Bid to sabotage Kochi Metro, says Vijaya Kumar
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A planned move is taking place to sabotage the Kochi Metro Rail Project for a private company, said former minister M Vijaya Kumar.
This is to grab commission worth crores. A move has begun to hand over the project to a private company in the name of global tender. The chief minister along with some ministers is trying to hand over the project to a private company led by a former MD expelled.
There are solid evidences to show that in 2005 the then chief minister Oommen Chandy tried to hand over the project to a private sector. Many companies including Gamon India took part in the global tenders invited. The LDF Government which came to power later shelved the move and decided to start the project on a public sector basis.
