Palakkad emerges champion in Kerala State Junior Athletic Meet 2012

KOCHI: The Palakkad district on Sunday won their first championship in Kerala State Junior Athletic Meet held at Maharaja’s College Ground in Kochi. Bagging 570.75 points from the three day competitions, Palakkad added to their assets 29 gold, 29 silver and 20 bronze medals. Ernakulam came just behind Palakkad with 347.5 points by winning 24 gold, 18 silver, 15 bronze. Kottayam finished third with 374 points. Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode got fourth and fifth places respectively.
