Govt want DMRC to take over Kochi Metro, says Minister Babu

KOCHI: The government wants the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to execute the construction work of Kochi Metro Rail Project, said Minister K Babu. A team led by E Sreedharan should take over the project, he said.   

When asked whether DMRC would be asked to take over the project, the minister said the cabinet will take a decision on it. E Sreedharan and DMRC should hold more talks on it, he said.  

Meantime, BJP leader O Rajagopal said protests will be staged if DMRC is kept aloof from the project.  Sreedharan is being avoided as he will not encourage corruption, alleged the leader.
