Vigilance probe against League leaders

THRISSUR:  The Thrissur Vigilance Court ordered a vigilance probe against Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb, Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer and Muslim League state president Panakkad Shihab Thangal in connection with the allotment of land of the Calicut University. Investigation will be based on the three pleas filled in the case. The report will have to be submitted within three months.   

The syndicate on March 27 decided to donate 10 acres of land of the university to Grace Education Trust chaired by Muslim League state president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal, three acres on the national highway o an organization headed by Dr K Kunhali, Minister P K Kunhalikutty’s son-in-law’s father, to construct a badminton court and 30 acres to Minister M K Muneer’s relative P A Hamza, an office bearer of the Olympic association.  The senate had later cancelled the decision following a controversy.
