VS wants party to change stand in Koodamkulam issue
NEW DELHI: V S Achuthanandan Friday tendered a letter to CPM general secretary Prakash Karat requesting the party to change its stand in the Koodamkulam nuclear plant issue in Tamil Nadu. The letter was distributed by the politburo in the central committee.
The letter states that the party should give importance to the safety of the people. The stand taken by the party on the Jaitapur plant should be taken in this case also. The threats caused by nuclear plants are seen globally. The party should support the strike after accepting that many nuclear plants abroad is closed.
Meantime, Prakash Karat said that if the party has to change its stand then it should should get the approval of the central committee.
