Boy allegedly beaten up at children’s home

Shiva, 15, of Kolar in Karnataka has been admitted to the Kasargod General Hospital.

The boy alleged that he was beaten up by the officials of the children’s Rehabilitation Home in the district.

According to Shiva, he ran away from home and reached Kasargod on October 7 as his father Krishna used to beat him and his mother Manjula under the influence of alcohol. He was once forced to sit on heated vessel by his father.

Childline officials said that Shiva had been handed over to them by the RPF, after which he was sent to the rehabilitation centre at Paravanadukkam in the district.

According to Uday Kumar of Childline, the rehabilitation centre officials informed them that Shiva was shifted to hospital as he was ill.
