Pvt buses to strike from Oct 29 if fare not hiked
KOCHI: Private buses of the state will begin an indefinite strike demanding a hike in bus fares. The All Kerala Bus Operators Coordination Committee requested to implement the proposals of the Justice Ramachandran Committee Report."
Minimum charge should be made Rs 7 and students’ concession rate should be made 50% are some of their demands. The committee has proposed an increase of 58 paise per kilometre.
The government wanted 15 days’ time even after the cabinet sub panel held talks with the bus owners. The bus owners said they will begin the strike if a decision is not taken before Oct 25.
