THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The centre has approved road developmental projects worth Rs 34,000 crore for the state, said Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari. Talking after laying the foundation stone for the four lane Kazhakoottam-Kovalam bypass, he said in my opinion one should not mix politics with development.
The centre is seriously considering all the development demands of Kerala. All requests of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is being approved. An accord has been taken to form a panel under the leadership of the chief secretary to acquire land for the development of the national highway. The chief minister has requested Gadkari to help in bringing an elevated highway from Kazhakoottam to Technopark.
Pon Radhakrishnan, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, who attended the function said the news that he is against the Vizhinjam harbour is totally baseless. I’ll be in the front to implement the project. I’ll also try for a harbor at Kulachil in Tamil Nadu.
